  • Presented a serious of talks on “Agile in SAP” at Warner Music Group in New York.
  • Presented a talk on “The Experience of Agile in the Media Industry” at BBC Worldwide.
  • Presented a talk on “Why Agile” to the Board of Directors at G3 Global.
  • Managed and launched Sony Music Royalty Statement Portal using SCRUM.
  • Introduced Agile techniques (SCRUM & KANBAN) into G3 Global. This involved performing agile coaching for multiple teams as they transitioned from waterfall to Agile.

    Sold startup to (the largest family social network) which generated a significant return for the business investors.
  • Co-founded to a family social network. I used SCRUM to quickly launch the first market version in four months.

  • Co-founded an offshore software company in South Africa that focussed on delivering bespoke Microsoft solutions based on the .Net platform. I grew this to 40+ people over four years.


G3 Global – Development Services Manager

2008/12 – 2013/05 (London)

I joined as a Project Manager and then took over the development services department. I was part of the executive management team. I had operational management of 25 consultants across a portfolio of external and internal projects. I introduced a variety of agile approaches such as SCRUM, Kanban, XP, TDD and Continuous Integration. I coached and mentored consultants at all levels. I was also involved in a number of R&D projects which included web and mobile projects.

Key project: Sony Music – Royalty Statement Portal (London & New York)

  • Role: Scrum Master for two teams
  • Developed a portal application that delivered 500K royalty statements every 6 months to various stakeholders in the music industry. This had an initial targeted user base of 15K.
  • Managed the project, client and development teams.
  • Agile Methods used: SCRUM, TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, User Stories
  • Successful project roll-out with only 2 minor issues in production for a year.
  • I coordinated teams across a complex technical landscape. I removed numerous impediments that hindered team progress.
    I coached the team on how to make the most of SCRUM. This included training additional Scrum Masters.

  • G3 Global – Artist Relationship Management (London)
    • Agile Project Manager of the development of an R&D product that aimed to provide a 365 degree view of all things pertaining to an artist in the music industry.
    • Demonstrated to Warner Music Group in the US.

  • Energia – Utility Mobile Field Sales (London & Ireland)
    • A proof of concept application that was demonstrated to senior Energia stakeholders as part of a sales pitch.

2007/04 – 2008/08 (London)

I co-founded this social network product focussed on family trees and interactions around the family. I managed all projects using Scrum to achieve rapid market entry.

Responsibilities included:
Product project management of new features for the Kindo product using an agile approach (Scrum).
Financial management and control of all venture capital funding.
Communication with some of the top VC firms and seed funding companies in London.
Management of geographically distributed translation team.

Project and Operations Manager

Explored product development opportunities while on my sabbatical after Open Box Software. This lead to the opportunity to start a social family tree company funded by some of the top venture capital firms in London. During my time investigating business opportunities I managed bespoke and packed CMS implementations using Scrum.

Open Box Software – UK Manager

2002/07 – 2006/08 (London & Cape Town)

I co-founded an offshore software development company. I set-up and managed the UK operation. Managed all software projects in the UK and across Europe. I was a key member of the management board for the company. Achieved gold partner status with Microsoft. Grew the company to 40 during my time with the company (currently 100+). I worked with a variety of Microsoft bespoke technologies.

Wimpy Burgers – 3rd Party Logistics
Role: Project Manager and Business Analyst
Description: This project replaced a legacy AS400 system with a bespoke Microsoft solution. 3Rd party logistics data files were imported on a daily basis to analyse sales and distribution.
Locations: The project was managed on-site in the UK. The software development was conducted in South Africa.

Tisham Speyer – Service Charge Module
Role: Business Analyst
Description: This project succeeded after two failures by tier 1 consultants. I lead a small team of three to analyse and develop a solution. The system calculated complex service charges based on real-estate agreements for large commercial properties.
Locations: Project was run from London, development was based in South African, target installation and training was Berlin.

Computer Sciences Corporation ( – Senior Business Analyst

2001/01 – 2002/06 (Cape Town)

I joined a new e-Business application and consulting services team in the Financial Services Group. I consulted on various strategy and software projects. I was part of the companies project management group.

Key Project: Old Mutual – Fund Switching Portal
Role: Business Analyst and Programmer
Description: This system allowed customers to change the composition of their pension fund into various managed financial funds. I started as the Business Analyst for the project and ended up actually developing the software.

Independent Online (IOL) – Business Analyst

I joined IOL as a Business Analyst to work on a number of new projects. The role grew rapidly and I took project management responsibilities on a number of projects. I was the interim IT manager for a short period after the IT Manager resigned. I help recruit and manage various aspects of the IT department.

Project management of an independent financial needs analysis tool that helped individuals forecast their financial position.

Project Managed a 3rd party software supplier to develop a tool that would allow companies to manage their car inventory and upload to motoring sales classifieds

Evaluated a number of database providers and drove the selection of a new platform.

IOL is the online presence for the Independent news and the second largest news site in South Africa.
