I recently gave the LinkedIn companies section a go. Chris Gunter, CEO & Owner of G3 Global, setup the initial page. Here is a snapshot of the page that was setup:

Company page of G3 Global on Linkedin.

I was half impressed with the functionality. It’s a great concept to use the business networking site to now have company pages, but the implementation still is clearly in Beta. I had a look at a company page that I used to work for Open Box Software, and was a bit confused when I saw three people on the page: Sophiane Arras, Andy Ashburner and Henry Juan who never worked for the company! Have a look at the ‘Former Employees’ section below:

Company page of Open Box Software on LinkedIn

They are connections of mine but clearly no relation to the company. I can only assume there is something wrong with the query in the logic. Oh well it is only beta.

Do you have any questions that you’ve always wanted to ask about God? Personally, I have a couple that have always wanted some solid answers to. Here are a few in my head:

Why does God let suffering happen?
If God is in control why doesn’t he just fix the problem straight away?
Where did sin come from?

Do you have any questions that you’ve always wanted to ask about God? Personally, I have a couple that have always wanted some solid answers to. Here are a few in my head:

Why does God let suffering happen?

If God is in control why doesn’t he just fix the problem straight away?

Where did sin come from?

Where did the devil come from?

The list goes on and on for me. The point is that everyone has questions. Even if you don’t believe in God you still might have questions about what Christians believe. Here is your opportunity to ask them. The church I belong to, St Andrews at Seven, is has a page where you can ask any question.

The answers will be presented in a series of 3 talks. Each talk will be available for download via the the web site. I’ll also blog which were the main questions that were asked. You are more than welcome to attend the talks or ask me for me for more information.

So, what is your question?

I was playing around with the new beta of music player/streamer from Spotify when I came across a song from Jars of Clay called “All My Tears“.I think the song was originally written by Julie Miller. I love the lyrics and especially the part about how “Gold and silver blind the eye, Temporary riches lie” words particular relevant given the recent financial market crisis.

You can listen to the track on LastFM or Spotify (if you have an account).

Here are the lyrics:

When I go, don’t cry for me
In my Father’s arms I’ll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I’ll be whole.
Sun and moon will be replaced
With the light of Jesus’ face
And I will not be ashamed
For my Savior knows my name.

It don’t matter where you bury me,
I’ll be home and I’ll be free.
It don’t matter where I lay,
All my tears be washed away.

Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven’s store,
Come and drink, and thirst no more

It don’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It don’t matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away

So, weep not for me my friends,
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to Him
Who will raise the dead again.

It don’t matter where you bury me,
I’ll be home and I’ll be free.
It don’t matter where I lay,
All my tears be washed away.
